The Alley was founded in 2011 in honor of the 50 Year Anniversary of the First Manned flight of Yuri Gagarin. The following 12 Cosmonauts planted trees next to the monument of Yuri Gagarin:
Gorbatko, Krikalev, Kaleri, Samokutyaev, Lonchakov, Romanenko, Skvortsov, Surayev, Serova, Borisenko, Kononenko, Skripochka. Next to the park Cosmonautics was founded. Alexei Leonov was invited for the opening ceremony of the museum and planting a tree next to it. The shovel used during the planting is a part of a exhibit in the museum.
